Knight Templar Priests
Knight Templar Priests is a selective Christian order for experienced, qualified Masonic Knights Templar. Grand College publishes a detailed membership test, so being a Knight Templar alone is insufficient and older shorthand descriptions should not replace the current rules.
Modern governance and older grades
Grand College distinguishes the history of priestly Masonic grades from the establishment of its modern governing organisation. That avoids presenting every older reference as proof of continuous administration by today’s Grand College. [1] [2]

The official membership page sets out multiple qualifications and a selective process. Summarising the route as ‘Knight Templar’ is therefore incomplete; office, standing and other requirements must be checked in the current wording. [3]
A qualified Mason should approach through authorised channels and accept that eligibility is not an entitlement. Public restraint about ceremonial content is not a reason to invent details from unofficial degree lists. [1] [3]
Who may value it
The order is most relevant to an experienced Christian Mason whose Craft, Royal Arch and Templar service already has depth. Its value lies in a specialist wisdom tradition and sustained Tabernacle life, not in reaching a supposedly higher status.
Rectified Scottish Rite is a useful comparison for an invitational Christian system with a chivalric-spiritual emphasis. St Thomas of Acon offers a more compact commemorative route for Knights Templar. [1] [3]
It is a later qualification-based order governed by Grand College at York, not a clerical office within Great Priory and not automatic after Templary.
