Operator and independence

The Site is operated by Beyond the Craft as an anonymous, independent educational project. It is not operated, sponsored or endorsed by UGLE, Freemasonry or any Masonic governing body unless a page explicitly states otherwise.

Educational and informational purpose

The Site provides public-level educational information about Masonic structures, orders, history and joining pathways. It does not disclose private ritual material and does not act for any organisation described on the Site.

No professional advice

Content is general information, not legal, financial, religious, safeguarding or other professional advice. You should obtain suitable independent advice where a decision requires it.

Accuracy and availability

We aim to use reliable public sources and keep information clear, but rules, recognition, names, websites and membership requirements can change. We do not guarantee that every statement is complete, current or error-free. Confirm important information directly with the relevant governing body.

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Site without notice.

External links

Links to external websites are provided for reference. Beyond the Craft does not control their content, security, availability or privacy practices and is not responsible for loss arising from their use. A link does not by itself imply endorsement.

Advertising and affiliate disclosure

The Site may display clearly labelled advertising, including through Google AdSense. Advertising does not constitute endorsement of an advertiser, product or service.

The Reading List contains Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, Beyond the Craft earns from qualifying purchases. A purchase made through an affiliate link may generate a commission for Beyond the Craft without increasing the price paid by the visitor. Affiliate relationships do not determine the editorial conclusions or guarantee that a recommended title is suitable for every reader.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, original text, design and site code are owned by or licensed to Beyond the Craft. You may read, link to and quote short extracts for lawful non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution. You may not reproduce substantial parts of the Site, remove notices, or republish the Site as your own without permission.

Names, emblems, photographs and logos belonging to Masonic or other organisations remain the property of their respective owners. Their educational identification on this Site does not imply ownership or endorsement.

User conduct

You must not misuse the Site, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, interfere with its operation, scrape it in a way that harms availability, impersonate the operator, or use its content for unlawful, deceptive or abusive activity.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beyond the Craft is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on the Site, inability to access it, external links or advertising. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
